When a guest claims the bathroom was filthy at check-in, you have one defense: a timestamped photo of the bathroom in clean condition the same morning. Without the photo, you're arguing he-said-she-said with Airbnb support. With the photo, the dispute closes in 24 hours. Here's how to set up a photo SOP your cleaner will actually follow.

The Five Photos Every Turn Should Include

Bathroom wide shot. Shows toilet, sink, shower in one frame.
Made bed. Pillows arranged, duvet smooth.
Kitchen counters. Wiped, no dishes, restocked.
Living area. Couch arranged, surfaces clear.
Final walkthrough thumbnail. Whatever room you'd want to "show off" - usually the entry.

Five photos. Two minutes of work at the end of the turn. Saves your Guest Favorite badge in a single dispute.

The Cleaner SOP

Cleaner finishes the turn.
Cleaner walks the property and takes the five photos.
Cleaner uploads to a shared folder (Dropbox, Google Drive, iCloud, or even just a SMS thread).
Folder is named by date and property.
Cleaner texts the host: "Turn complete, photos in folder."

Why Cleaners Resist (and How to Fix It)

Cleaners initially see photos as an extra task or an accountability tool aimed at them. Reframe it: the photos protect them too, when a guest claims a turn was bad. A cleaner with photo evidence of a clean room can't be blamed when a guest leaves a hair behind. Pay for the two minutes - even $5 extra per turn - and acknowledge the photos in your communication. When the Photos Save You

Cleanliness disputes. Guest claims dirty arrival, you have a clean photo from the same morning.

The Storage Question
